Team Forces Announced as an Official Fundraising Partner for Invictus Games Birmingham 2027
Team Forces has today been named as the Official Fundraising Partner for Invictus Games Birmingham 2027. The announcement marks an exciting new chapter for Team Forces and its mission to support the Armed Forces community through the power of sport, challenge and adventure for recovery and rehabilitation.
The partnership will see Team Forces collaborating with the Birmingham 2027 team to secure vital funding through fundraising initiatives and corporate partnerships, supporting the Games and the competitors who embody the Invictus Spirit of resilience and determination.
Founded by The Duke of Sussex, the Invictus Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who have served their country. Birmingham will host the Games in July 2027, welcoming wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans from around the world to compete across a range of adaptive sports and share their stories with global audiences.
Beyond the week of the Games itself, Birmingham 2027’s Impact Programme 2027 will create meaningful recovery opportunities for at least 1,500 wounded, injured and sick service personnel, veterans, and their families, while also generating benefits for Birmingham and the West Midlands through jobs, skills, and community engagement.
As the Official Fundraising Partner, Team Forces will work with supporters, corporate partners and the wider Armed Forces Community to create opportunities for individuals and organisations to play their part in making Birmingham 2027 an unforgettable success.
The partnership builds on Team Forces' long-standing commitment to improving the health, wellbeing and recovery of serving personnel, veterans and their families by enabling life-changing opportunities through sport, challenge and adventure. With more than a decade of experience supporting the Armed Forces community, Team Forces brings a strong network of supporters and partners who share the values at the heart of the Invictus movement.
Lamont Kirkland, CEO of Team Forces, said:"We are incredibly proud to become the Official Fundraising Partner for Invictus Games Birmingham 2027. The Invictus Games represent everything that Team Forces believes in - courage, resilience, recovery and the transformational power of sport.
For over a decade, Team Forces has helped thousands of members of the Armed Forces community access opportunities that improve physical and mental wellbeing through sport and adventure. Supporting Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 is a natural extension of that mission.
We look forward to working with the Birmingham 2027 team, our corporate partners and supporters across the defence community to help create a lasting legacy for the Games and to ensure that competitors receive the support and recognition they deserve."
Helen Helliwell, Chief Executive Officer, Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Team Forces as our Official Fundraising Partner. Their commitment to supporting the health, wellbeing and recovery of the Armed Forces Community through sport and adventure makes them a fantastic partner for the Games. Together, we’ll work with communities and partners to make a lasting difference for competitors, families and supporters, both during the Games and long after they finish.”
