STRATEGY
Our Impact Strategy puts the wounded, injured, and sick community at the centre, working with partners to demonstrate that real strength is defined through recovery, resilience, and connection — ensuring our Games leave a positive social impact long after the medals are won and the last cheer fades
Through this strategy, we aim to:
INSPIRE RECOVERY & POTENTIAL
Engage more than 1,500 wounded, injured, and sick (WIS) service personnel and their families.
Deliver over 1,000 adaptive sport and adventure opportunities for WIS participants.
Support social impact projects across more than 60 locations in the UK.
Provide industry placements for 10+ young people, creating career pathways in major events.
STRENGTHEN COMMUNITIES & CONNECTION
Guarantee that at least 25% of paid roles go to Birmingham and West Midlands residents.
Ensure 25% of volunteer roles are filled by local residents.
Offer 25% of volunteer roles to the Armed Forces community.
Engage more than 25,000 schoolchildren through a dedicated education programme.
PROTECT PEOPLE & PLANET
Reuse or donate at least 80% of Games assets after the event.
Divert 95% of Games-related waste from landfill through reuse, recycling, or composting.
Require 100% of new supplier contracts to meet sustainable criteria.
Target ISO 20121 certification by July 2027 to demonstrate sustainable event delivery.
DRIVE INCLUSION & ACCESSIBILITY
Provide accessibility training for 100% of staff and volunteers.
Audit all venues, hotels, and transport for full accessibility.
Establish an Accessibility Advisory Panel to guide inclusive delivery
