Livewire Pictures appointed Birmingham 2027 Host Broadcaster and Production Partner for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies

UK independent production company Livewire Pictures has been appointed to deliver the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and the Host Broadcast for television coverage of the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.

Livewire will produce the Opening Ceremony on 10 July 2027 and the Closing Ceremony on 17 July 2027, alongside Host Broadcast coverage across all 12 adaptive sports, daily live streams, highlights programming, and international broadcast services throughout the Games.

Bringing ceremonies and sports broadcast together under one team allows for greater creative collaboration, operational efficiency and a cohesive approach to storytelling throughout the week of the Games, helping ensure competitors' stories of recovery, resilience and determination land consistently for audiences in the UK and across the globe.

Livewire Managing Director, Guy Freeman, Lead Features Producer, Tom Cuckson, Line Producer, Jenna Winstanley and Technical Director, James Bonnar all bring experience from previous Invictus Games coverage, including the first Games in London, 2014, while Lead Ceremonies Producer, Cerrie Frost and Head of Ceremonies Production, Chris Vaughan, bring their experience to the team.

Livewire's broadcast coverage will play a key role in bringing Birmingham 2027 to audiences far beyond the NEC and Sandwell Aquatics Centre. Coverage will tell the story of Birmingham as a global hub for recovery and rehabilitation, showcase the Games' accessibility and impact, and, above all, share the stories of the wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans at the heart of Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.

Planning is now underway across ceremonies, broadcast, technical delivery and international distribution. Further announcements on broadcast partners, presenters and performers will follow in the coming months.
