IG27 awarded Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award
Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 has received a Silver Award through the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme for its continued support of the Armed Forces community.
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme is the UK Government's programme that honours employers who demonstrate outstanding support for defence personnel, veterans, reservists and military families. The Silver Award recognises organisations that actively champion the Armed Forces Covenant and embed support for the military community within their workplace culture and employment practices.
The award is a remarkable achievement for Invictus Games Birmingham 2027. As a relatively new charity, receiving Silver status so early in its journey reflects the strength of its commitment to serving and supporting wounded, injured and sick service personnel, veterans and their families, ahead of the Games in 2027.
Helen Helliwell, CEO, Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, said:
“Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 are incredibly proud to receive the Silver Award through the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. As an organisation built around supporting Wounded, Injured and Sick service personnel, veterans and their families, this recognition is especially meaningful to us.
The award reflects our commitment not only to delivering the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, but to creating a workplace and culture that actively supports the Armed Forces community and recognises the value, resilience and experience that service personnel, veterans and military families bring to organisations and communities.
As we build towards Birmingham 2027, we remain committed to working alongside partners across the region and the wider military community to create a positive and lasting impact.”
