IG27 announces Deloitte as Official Partner
Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 is proud to announce Deloitte as an Official Partner, welcoming one of the world's leading professional services organisations to the team delivering the next chapter of this global movement.
Deloitte brings more than a decade of Games support to this partnership, having contributed to five previous editions of the Invictus Games. Their involvement in Birmingham 2027 reflects a shared commitment to the values at the heart of the Invictus movement: Service, Resilience, and Excellence.
Birmingham 2027 will welcome 550 competitors from 25 nations, with an estimated 150,000 supporters attending events across the city. The Games will be hosted at the NEC - an accessible, well-connected venue with strong national and international transport links, making it well-suited for wounded, injured and sick competitors, their families, and the wider support teams travelling from across the world. Swimming will take place at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre. Hosting ceremonies, sport, a research conference, festival, and accommodation on one integrated site at the NEC means competitors and families can focus on what matters most: connection, recovery, and competition.
Deloitte will contribute pro bono professional expertise across programme leadership, governance, and cyber, helping to ensure Birmingham 2027 is delivered to the highest standards and provides a seamless experience for competitors, families, and supporters.
Deloitte's people will also contribute through volunteering and skills-sharing, bringing their professional capabilities directly to the teams working to make Birmingham 2027 a success for every competitor and family who takes part.
The partnership reflects a shared hope for lasting connections, continued impact, and support that extends beyond the Games themselves, for the wounded, injured and sick at its heart, and for the communities in Birmingham and the West Midlands that will welcome them.
Bruce Park MBE, partner at Deloitte, said:
“As long-standing supporters of the Invictus Games, we are pleased to continue that partnership into Birmingham 2027. Deloitte is proud to hold the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award, reflecting our deep commitment to supporting the UK Armed Forces community – both those who serve currently, and those transitioning to life beyond service. Invictus matters because it recognises the resilience that wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women choose everyday in pursuit of their recovery, celebrating their athletic excellence and providing them with a pathway for what's next.”
Birmingham and the wider West Midlands region also bring particular strengths in healthcare and rehabilitation, with established expertise that aligns naturally with the recovery focus of the Games and supports the continued care of participants beyond their time in the city.
Juliet Halfhead, practice senior partner for Deloitte Midlands, added:
“We are proud to support a sporting event that will be hosted in Birmingham - a city that already has a proven track record in delivering exceptional events on an international stage. Our work and people will help deliver a positive impact on the region, as well as create the conditions for Invictus Games competitors, families and communities to come together with purpose and celebrate sporting achievements.”
The Games take place at a time when the need for visible, sustained support for wounded, injured and sick service personnel has never been greater. With conflicts continuing across the world, men and women are returning from service with physical injuries, non-visible wounds, and the lasting effects of operational stress. The Invictus Games provides a structured, sport-led pathway to recovery, and an opportunity for the public to recognise and understand the sacrifices made by those who serve.
Chris Conneally, Managing Director, Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, said:
"We’re delighted to be working with Deloitte as we look ahead to Birmingham 2027. An Invictus Games of this scale is a collective effort, and partners like Deloitte play an important role in making that happen. Their expertise will be vital in helping us create an exceptional Games that brings competitors, families and communities together, while supporting the recovery of the men and women who have made significant sacrifices in service of their country."
