IG27 launches major business engagement drive in West Midlands
Business leaders across the West Midlands are being urged to help shape one of the UK’s most high-profile international sporting events as Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 launches a major regional business engagement drive.
With more than 550 competitors from over 25 nations set to compete, and a global broadcast audience expected in the millions, the Games will place Birmingham - and the businesses behind it - firmly on the world stage.
The drive began this week with engagement events at Lilleshall National Sports & Conferencing Centre and Deloitte’s Birmingham offices, bringing together a wide range of organisations keen to explore how they can be part of the Invictus Games journey. The sessions were led by the Games’ commercial team and introduced businesses to partnership opportunities linked to the delivery and legacy of the event.
Attendees heard from Lee Hazard MBE, who spoke about the determination and purpose that sit at the heart of the Invictus Games mission, and from Team UK competitor Jonny Ball VR, who shared his powerful personal story of recovery and how the Games helped him rediscover a sense of purpose. The events also recognised the work of veteran support charity Turn to Starboard, which received the Invictus Games Flag ahead of a sailing challenge launching in March.
Partnering with Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 offers organisations the opportunity to contribute to the rehabilitation of the Armed Forces community, support resilience and inclusion, deliver meaningful social value, and build connections with leading regional, national and international organisations.
Businesses interested in exploring partnership opportunities are encouraged to begin the conversation with the Games’ commercial team.
