MARTYN SALT
DIRECTOR OF SPORT
Martyn has over 25 years’ experience in sports events at all levels. Initially organising national Mountain Bike events he was appointed Mountain Bike Manager for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Experience in adaptive sport began with roles in the London 2012 Para Cycling team and then was broadened with the planning of the inaugural World Wheelchair Rugby Challenge in 2015. Martyn was appointed director of competition for the 2016 Invictus Games in Orlando and enjoyed further roles in the UK team delegation for the Toronto and Sydney Games.
He was responsible for the development of the Wheelchair Rugby Quad Nations in 2018/19/20 and in 2021 was appointed to the sport senior leadership team for Paris 2024, leading the planning of 10 Olympic and 5 Paralympic Sports. Martyn’s varied career has also seen him organise World Level Skateboard, Freestyle Moto X and Tennis events and enjoy 2 years as race director for Toughmudder.
A keen sportsman; he enjoys playing Cricket and is learning to play Padel and Pickleball. Martyn brings his continuing passion for sport to ensure a competitor and spectator focus at all stages of planning.
