JULES MERRISON

DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPACT

Group Captain Jules Merrison has over 20 years of Armed Forces experience, serving in the Royal Air Force Medical Services and working in joint and international environments. She has specialised in medical planning, operations and aeromedical evacuation, completing operational tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and working for NATO in Belgium and the Sovereign Base Areas in Cyprus.

During COVID-19, Jules was seconded to the UK’s Permanent Joint Headquarters as Competent Medical Authority, leading the pandemic response across approximately 30 overseas theatres. She holds a Masters in Defence Studies from King’s College London and the Defence Academy, and in 2021 assumed command of Tactical Medical Wing at RAF Brize Norton, overseeing specialist training and aeromedical evacuation operations.

Seconded to the Invictus Games 2027 Executive Team for three years, Jules is embracing a career pivot to contribute to the Invictus community. She lives in the Cotswolds with her husband and three children, balancing a fast-paced career with family life.
